Columbus Blue Jackets News & Notes:

All things considered, Columbus had a much different Trade Deadline than expected. After the season started, rumors of who they’d trade off the team, Ivan Provorov, leaked into the media. After an impressive start and managing to stay in the playoff hunt, the team deserved a different outcome. Columbus added Luke Kunin at the deadline to give the team a boost down the stretch.

New York Rangers News & Notes:

The Rangers were a whirlwind around the deadline. After the J.T. Miller trade, they moved Reilly Smith, Ryan Lindgren, and Jimmy Vesey. New York made the savvy move in dealing players that weren’t in the long-term plans while adding in a couple of players that can see in the future plans. The Rangers are only 3 points back of third place in the Metropolitan Division and a point away from a Wild Card berth.
