Dallas Stars News & Notes:

Dallas is 17-11-1 on the road and 8-1-1 in their last ten games as they travel to Columbus tonight to take on the Blue Jackets. The Stars have won three straight contests, scoring at least four goals in each game. The Stars have scored 188 goals which is fifth in the NHL. This is the second and final meeting between these clubs this season, with the Stars taking the first meeting 5-3 in Dallas on February 2.

Columbus Blue Jackets News & Notes:

The Blue Jackets are 18-6-4 at home and are 5-4-1 in their last ten games as they prepare to host the Dallas Stars tonight. Columbus has been okay in one-goal games with a 6-5-7 record, but if they want to secure a playoff spot, that is probably an area they’ll need to improve down the stretch.

Players To Watch:

Dallas Stars

Matt Duchene has been on a tear of late for the Stars with four straight multi-point games. The 34-year-old pivot has five goals and five assists in six games in February. Duchene will try to extend his point streak and multi-point streak to five games tonight in Columbus.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Kent Johnson has dealt with injury problems for the last two years but has 39 points (19g, 19a) in 43 games this season. He is on pace for a career-high 55 points and seems to be only scratching the surface of what he can do when he’s healthy. Opinion: Stars’ Mikko Rantanen Returns to Form At the Right Time

It was clear that Mikko Rantanen was not exactly about being traded by the Colorado Avalanche, the only NHL club he had ever known. It was in Colorado where he spent close to 11 seasons, won a Stanley Cup in 2022, had 681 points (287 goals and 394 assists), and made lifelong friends. That is […]

Edmonton Oilers Playoff Thoughts: Round 2, Game 2

It takes four wins to advance, but the Edmonton Oilers historically lose almost every Game 1. In their last 15 rounds, including Tuesday night, they’ve won only four series openers.
