Dallas Stars News & Notes:

Dallas sits in second place in the Central Division behind the President’s Trophy contender Winnipeg Jets as Dallas prepares for the final stretch of the season. The Stars are 7-2-1 in their last ten games and had been playing good hockey before the 4 Nations break. Can they pick up where they left off, or will there be some rust?

New Jersey Devils News & Notes:

The Devils are comfortably in third place in the Metropolitan Division with an 8-point gap between them and fourth-place Columbus as they return to action tonight. The Devils are 15-9-4 at home this season but have been average in their last ten games with a 5-5-0 record. This is the first of two meetings between these clubs this season with the final meeting on March 4 in Dallas.

Players To Watch:

Dallas Stars

Jason Robertson started slowly for the Stars with 13 points in his first two months of action, but the 25-year-old winger has been excellent since December, with 38 points over that span. The Northville, Michigan native probably should have been on the Team USA roster for the 4 Nations Tournament, but hopefully, the powers that be won’t make that same mistake for the 2026 Olympic Roster.

New Jersey Devils

Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt are a dynamic duo for the Devils’ offense, with 65 and 64 points, respectively. The pair have been the driving force of the Devils offense this season, with the next closest teammate, Nico Hischier, with 43 points. The linemates have both excelled in February, Hughes with five points (4g, 1a) and Bratt with six points (1g, 5a) in four games for the Devils.

Opinion: Stars’ Mikko Rantanen Returns to Form At the Right Time

It was clear that Mikko Rantanen was not exactly about being traded by the Colorado Avalanche, the only NHL club he had ever known. It was in Colorado where he spent close to 11 seasons, won a Stanley Cup in 2022, had 681 points (287 goals and 394 assists), and made lifelong friends. That is […]

Edmonton Oilers Playoff Thoughts: Round 2, Game 2

It takes four wins to advance, but the Edmonton Oilers historically lose almost every Game 1. In their last 15 rounds, including Tuesday night, they’ve won only four series openers. Even in 2006, they only won one Game 1. If you include that Playoff run, just for laughs, the record is 5 Game 1 wins […]
