The Red Wings dropped their fifth straight game in a 5-2 loss on Friday night to the Washington Capitals. The Red Wings led 2-1 entering the third period before allowing four goals, two of which were shorthanded. During the recent rough stretch they are averaging two goals per game while allowing 4.2 goals per game.

Ottawa Senators News & Notes:

The Senators picked up their second straight win on Saturday with a 4-3 overtime win over the New York Rangers. They came back from being down 3-1 to force overtime and picked up the win 33 seconds into overtime. Ottawa is 3-2-1 since returning from the Four Nations break, averaging 3.33 goals per game while allowing 3.83 goals per game.
