The Detroit Red Wings will take on the San Jose Sharks tonight. The Red Wings are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night while the Sharks are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.

No goalie was announced following morning skate.

Talbot is 5-3-1 this season with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. He got the start on Saturday and took the loss giving up three goals on 40 shots. In his career against the Sharks, he is 7-9-3 with a 3.34 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage. He didn’t face the Sharks last season.

Lyon is 2-4-0 this season with a .903 save percentage and a 3.14 goals-against average. He started on Friday and suffered the loss, giving up five goals on 28 shots. He made his only career start against the Sharks last season, picking up a win by stopping 24 of the 27 shots he faced.  

San Jose: Mackenzie Blackwood (3-5-3, 2.98 GAA)

Blackwood gets the start, he is 3-5-3 with a 2.98 goals against average and a .914 save percentage, his last appearance came on Saturday in relief and he suffered the loss in a shootout, he allowed just one goal on 26 shots. In his career against Detroit, he is 1-2-0 with a 3.41 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage. He didn’t record a decision last season but stopped 16 of the 20 shots he faced last season.

Detroit: Lucas Raymond (2-14-16)

Raymond this season has 16 points on two goals and 14 assists; he leads the team in assists and is tied for the team lead in points. In his career against San Jose he’s played in six games recording six points on a goal and five assists; last season in two games he had five points on a goal and four assists.

San Jose: Macklin Celebrini (3-1-4)

Celebrini will face the Red Wings for the first time in his career tonight. This season through seven games he has four points on three goals and an assist; he is tied for fourth on the team in goals.

Head to Head

The Red Wings last season went 1-0-1 against the Sharks and outscored them 10-9. In their last ten meetings, the Red Wings are 6-1-3 and have outscored San Jose in that span 39-31.
