Edmonton Oilers News & Notes:

After disappointing losses to the Red Wings and Maple Leafs, the Oilers set out on a short road trip before the 4-Nations break. While the Vegas Golden Knights have been struggling in their last 10 games, the Oilers have been able to catch up in the standings and create a lead for themselves.

Rumors surfaced online that Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins could be a trade target for the Oilers. While this is undoubtedly an enticing addition, it is still unknown if the Bruins will be sellers at the deadline. A heated Atlantic Division race over the next month could make a lot of changes in buyers and sellers.

Chicago Blackhawks News & Notes:

With a rising salary cap and plenty of cap space to spend, Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks could be poised to make some franchise-shaking moves. While the Blackhawks have been linked to players like Elias Pettersson, Seth Jones has now hit the trade target boards. Could Chicago be ready to make a few franchise-altering moves to ice a better team around Connor Bedard?
