The Edmonton Oilers (12-9-2) will face the Colorado Avalanche (13-11-0) on the road this Saturday night at Ball Arena in Denver, with the puck drop scheduled for 8:00 PM MT (10:00 PM ET). This matchup will be the second game of a back-to-back for both teams. Edmonton secured a 4-3 victory in overtime against Utah on Friday, while Colorado lost 5-3 to Dallas. In the game against Utah, the Oilers fell behind 2-0 after a tough first period. However, they made a strong comeback, tying the game with two power-play goals, and eventually winning 4-3 in overtime after Utah equalized in the third period. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the overtime winner with his signature low-blocker shot.

After the game, Leon Draisaitl commented, “Sometimes it gets loud in here and uncomfortable. Things need to be said, but there is no finger-pointing on this team,” referring to the discussions during the intermission after the rough first period against Utah last night. The presence of veterans like Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, who both scored during the comeback, is crucial for the team’s future success as they push to return to the Stanley Cup Final come late spring.
