Edmonton Oilers News & Notes:

The Oilers have lost two in a row as they travel to New York to play the Islanders. The Oilers are 17-13-2 on the road and will try to snap their losing streak tonight at UBS Arena. Edmonton sits in third place in the Pacific Division, one point behind the second-place L.A. Kings. This is the second and final meeting between these two teams, with the Oilers taking the first matchup 4-3 in overtime on November 12 in Edmonton.

New York Islanders News & Notes:

The Islanders lost the last two games of a three-game road trip before returning home to face the Oilers tonight. New York is 15-13-2 at home this season and is 4-6-0 in their last ten games overall. The Islanders are in contention for a playoff birth, but their hopes are dwindling with every loss as they’re five points behind the second wild card spot with four teams in front of them.
