Edmonton Oilers News & Notes:

The Oilers are tied with Vegas for first place in the Pacific Division with 72 points as the NHL resumes play after the break for the 4 Nations Tournament. Connor McDavid was the hero for Canada, scoring the game-winning goal in a 3-2 overtime victory. Edmonton is 16-7-2 on the road this season as they prepare to take on the Flyers tonight in Philadelphia. The Oilers won the first matchup between these teams with a 4-3 overtime victory on October 15.

Philadelphia Flyers News & Notes:

The Flyers snapped their four-game losing streak right before the break with a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Flyers are in last place in the Metropolitan Division and are only 13-13-1 at home this season as they welcome the defending Western Conference Champions. Philadelphia will probably be a seller as the NHL Trade Deadline approaches in a few weeks.

Players To Watch:

Edmonton Oilers

Can the golden goal that lifted Canada to the 4 Nations Championship push Connor McDavid to an even higher stature? It might. It was one of the most watched hockey games in the last ten years, and he scored the winner just as Sidney Crosby did for Canada to win the gold in Vancouver in 2010. McDavid is the face of the NHL and a generational talent still looking for his first Stanley Cup. This could be the year.

Philadelphia Flyers

Travis Konecny leads the Flyers with 22 goals and 39 assists. Owen Tippett has three goals and three assists over his last ten games and is third on the Flyers in scoring with 30 points in 52 games.
