The Kings won their opener in Buffalo 3-1, and Darcy Kuemper made 32 saves in the victory. Los Angeles was outshot and outplayed for large portions of the game but put together a solid third period to get the win.

Los Angeles – Center Anze Kopitar scored a natural hat trick in the season-opening win over Buffalo. The 37-year-old has totaled 422 goals and 792 assists in 1,374 regular season games in his career. Kopitar is also a two-time Selke Award winner for Best Defensive Forward.
Boston – Elias Lindholm has four points (1 goal and 3 assists) in his first two games with Boston. Lindholm has won 53 percent of his faceoffs over his career but is just 9 for 22 this season.
