Los Angeles Kings News & Notes:
The Kings will look to extend their winning streak to six games as they faceoff against the Wild in Minnesota tonight. Los Angeles has outscored their opponents 16-7 during their streak. The Kings have struggled on the road this season with a 13-17-5 record but did win their last road game 6-5 over the Vegas Golden Knights. Tonight is the third and final meeting between these clubs this season, with the Kings winning both of the previous matchups and outscoring the Wild 9-2 in the process.
Minnesota Wild News & Notes:
Minnesota has a tough task at hand with a red-hot Kings team coming to town as the Wild are reeling, losers of four of their last five contests. The Wild have been outscored 15-6 over that span. Minnesota is holding firm in the first wild card spot, but their position is getting more precarious by the day, with St. Louis 7-2-1 in their last ten games, while Minnesota has struggled to a 3-6-1 record in their last ten. It’s time for the Wild to snap out of their funk before it’s too late.

Players To Watch:
Los Angeles Kings
Quinton Byfield may finally be living up to the potential of the second overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, the 22-year-old has goals in six straight games for the Kings. The 6-foot-5 native of Newmarket, Ontario has always been a reliable two-way forward, he’s been a plus player for three consecutive seasons, but his offensive game is rounding into form. Byfield is on pace for his second straight 20+ goal season, and his late-season play has the team excited for what they could see in the playoffs.
Minnesota Wild
Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi lead the Wild in scoring with 55 and 53 points respectively. The young duo has admirably tried to pick up the slack for injured superstar Kirill Kaprizov, but the burden cannot fall to these young players alone. The pair have struggled to score recently, with Boldy on a ten-game goal-less streak and Rossi on a nine-game goal-less streak. It’s not for lack of effort Boldy has 32 shots over that span. For Minnesota to get where they want to go, this pair needs to start finding the net again.
