The Devils saw their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday in a 5-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh; the Devils beat the Hurricanes the night before in a home-and-home. Jacob Markstrom has been locked in for New Jersey, in December he is 8-0-1 with a 1.11 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage.

The Ducks snapped a two-game losing streak on Sunday with a 5-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers. They got goals from Robby Fabbri, Cutter Gauthier, Mason McTavish, Ryan Strome, and Drew Helleson; Lukas Dostal got the start in goal stopping 20 of the 23 shots he faced.
