New Jersey Devils News & Notes:

New Jersey lost in their last game, a 4-3 decision to the Buffalo Sabres. The Devils are 4-4-2 in their last ten games and are 14-11-2 on the road this season. New Jersey is 9-6-3 against the Metropolitan Division as try to get a win in Pittsburgh tonight. New Jersey won the first of four meetings 3-0 on December 21 at the Prudential Center.

Pittsburgh Penguins News & Notes:

The Penguins have won two in a row since dropping three straight at the end of January. Pittsburgh has some work to do to climb back into the playoff conversation. The Penguins have struggled within the division with a 3-8-3 record but will try to start the climb back against the Devils. Pittsburgh has a -33 goal differential this season.

Players To Watch:

New Jersey Devils

Paul Cotter started off February with two goals in his first game equaling his total from the entire month of January. Cotter is one goal away from tying his career high of 13 goals set with the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2022-23 season. The 25-year-old Canton, Michigan native is on pace for 18 goals and 27 points this season.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Erik Karlsson has been a disappointment since joining the Penguins. Karlsson was traded from the San Jose Sharks after winning the Norris Trophy with 101 points (25g, 76a) in the 2022-23 season and hasn’t come close to those numbers in Pittsburgh. Karlsson had 56 points in 82 games a year ago and is on pace for 53 points this season.
