New York Islanders News & Notes:

The Islanders have been playing great hockey in their last ten games, with an 8-2-0 record over that span. New York is coming off a 5-2 victory over the Avalanche in which Simon Holmstrom paced the attack with two goals and an assist. The Isles are 7-5-2 against the Metropolitan Division as they travel to meet division rival Philadelphia in an important game for both teams as they try to keep playoff hopes alive.

Philadelphia Flyers News & Notes:

The Flyers are 6-8-1 in the Metropolitan Division and face the Islanders in the third of four meetings this season. The teams have split the first two matchups with the Islanders taking the most recent battle 3-1 on January 24 on the Island. The Flyers are one point ahead of New York in the standings but have played three more games, so this is as close to a must-win as possible if Philly wants to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
