New York Islanders Notes:

The Islanders opened their season with a tough 5-4 overtime loss to Utah. New York will be looking to bounce back and get their first win of the season against a tough Dallas squad. The Islanders were 18-20-6 on the road last season.

Dallas Stars Notes:

Dallas kicked off their 2024-25 campaign with a 4-3 win against the Nashville Predators. Mason Marchment and Logan Stankoven paced the Dallas attack with two goals and three assists, respectively. The Stars were a great home team last season with a record of 30-15-6, and are 6-2-1 in their past nine games against the Islanders at American Airlines Center.

Players To Watch:

NYI – New addition Anthony Duclair started his Islanders career off with a bang notching a goal and assist in his first game. Duclair adds much-needed speed and scoring potential to a lineup that struggled to score a year ago. He’ll be counted on to produce as he rides shotgun with franchise star Mathew Barzal.

Dallas – Logan Stankoven burst onto the scene last year as the diminutive forward had 14 points in 24 games (6 goals and 14 assists) for the Stars. Stankoven was leading the AHL in scoring at the time of his call-up, with 57 points in only 47 games. Stankoven will look to continue his elite play after garnering 3 assists in game 1 against Nashville. The young winger is a Calder Trophy favorite this season on a loaded Dallas Stars team.
