New York Rangers News & Notes

The Rangers are 1-4 in their last five games and are tied for last in the Metro Division with the New York Islanders. Things are at an all-time low this season, but the question remains: What’s next?

Igor Shesterkin is currently on IR. After he got his big pay raise following the Jacob Trouba trade, yet he is 3-7 and has given up 30 goals in his last 10 games. This isn’t the Shesterkin of years past, stealing games for the Rangers, he’s struggling to help this team win.

Chicago Blackhawks News & Notes

Chicago is again dead last in the Central Division standings and is headed for another top-five draft pick. While the trade deadline is a time for teams to offload expiring contracts, it’s likely the Blackhawks will also try and add long-term solutions to their lineup as well.

Players To Watch:

New York Rangers

Vincent Trocheck is having a down year, but with 5 points in his last 10 games, is he starting to turn things around? The Rangers are looking for one of their core players to shake out of the funk and drag this team into some wins. Trocheck is one of those players, in my opinion.

Mika Zibanejad has been cropping up in NHL trade rumors recently. He currently has 8 goals, 15 assists, and is a -21.

Chicago Blackhawks

Connor Bedard is why most Blackhawks fans get excited about games these days. He’s 35 points behind Eddie Olcyk for ‘most points by a teenager’ in Chicago Blackhawks History.
