New York Rangers News & Notes:

The Rangers have been in a free fall recently, dropping three of their last four games. New York traded their Captain, Jacob Trouba, to the Anaheim Ducks for Urho Vaakanainen and a 4th-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft to try to shake things up. After the trade, the Rangers lost to the Kings 5-1 at home on Saturday. New York is 8-5-1 away from home and 3-7-0 in their last ten games.

St. Louis Blues News & Notes:

The Blues seemed to right the ship after Jim Montgomery took over behind the bench, but St. Louis has slipped of late; the Blues have lost three of their last four and two straight games. The Blues are 5-7-1 at home this season but did win the previous matchup 5-2 between these teams in New York on November 25.

Players To Watch:

New York Rangers

The Islanders have struggled to score goals this season and appear to be on the verge of getting star center Mat Barzal back. New York could use a boost to their offense, and the shifty Barzal could be the addition they need. Barzal is coming off a fantastic 2023-2024 season with 80 points (23g, 57a).

St. Louis Blues

Robert Thomas has been tremendous for the Blues since returning from injury on November 19. The 25-year-old pivot has points in ten of twelve games since re-entering the lineup. It took a while to find his groove as the Aurora, Ontario native had four points in six November games but has turned it on in December with 11 points (3g, 8a) in six games.
