Ottawa Senators Notes:

Ottawa was 3-0-0 when scoring first, but couldn’t hold the lead against the high-scoring Vegas Golden Knights in a 6-4 loss. Linus Ullmark had been good against Vegas in his career allowing only three goals in two games against the Golden Knights. Ullmark’s five goals allowed were the most he’s given up since the Islanders scored five against him last year on March 2.

Colorado Avalanche Notes:

Colorado has won 4 games in a row after losing 4 straight to start the season. The Avalanche have outscored opponents 16-7 during that span. Colorado’s early season struggles on the power play appear to be gone as the Avalanche have power-play goals in 5 consecutive games.

Ottawa Senators Projected Lineup (subject to change):

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Amadio
Giroux-Norris-Batherson
Gregor-Greig-Cousins
Reinhardt-Gaudette-MacEwen

Sanderson-Hamonic
Chabot-Jensen
Kleven-Bernard-Docker

Ullmark

Players To Watch:

Ottawa Senators – Tim Stutzle, Drake Batherson, and Brady Tkachuk lead the Senators in points with 9, 9, and 8 respectively. Senators fans should be extremely optimistic about the potential of this young core. Stutzle is only 22, Tkachuk is 25, and Batherson is the old man of the group at 26 and hasn’t even hit his prime yet.

Colorado Avalanche – Cale Makar has staked his claim to being the best defenseman in the NHL. Makar is tied for 2nd in the league in scoring and is tops amongst defensemen with 15 points (3g, 12a) this season.
