Philadelphia Flyers News & Notes:

The Flyers are 2-2-1 in their last five games as they travel to New Jersey to face the Devils tonight. Philadephia is 5th in the Metropolitan Division but only three points out of the second Wild Card spot. The Flyers have a 4-5-1 record within the Division but are above .500 on the road with a 10-9-5 record in 24 games. This is the first of four meetings between the division rivals this season.

New Jersey Devils News & Notes:

New Jersey has alternated wins and losses in their last five games, with three of those contests going to extra time (1-0-2), with a victory in overtime and a loss in overtime and the shootout. The Devils have been struggling with consistency lately, going 3-4-3 in their last ten games. However, the Devils have been tough to beat at the Prudential Center this season with a 13-6-4 record at home.

Players To Watch:

Philadelphia Flyers

Travis Konecny is one of the most underrated forwards in the league as he is on pace for a career year after posting back-to-back 30+ goal seasons. Konecny is on pace for a 94-point, 36-goal season which would be career highs for the 27-year-old winger just entering his prime.

New Jersey Devils

A dynamic duo of Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt is the engine that makes the Devils offense go, they lead the club in points with 55 (18g, 37a) and 52 (15g, 37a) points respectively. The next closest skater, Nico Hischier, has 39 points. As Hughes and Bratt go, so go the Devils – both players are under a point per game in losses but almost 1.5 points per game in wins. If opposing teams can keep Hughes and Bratt off the scoreboard they have a good chance to win, but it’s a tough thing to do.
