Philadelphia Flyers News & Notes:
The Flyers had their three-game winning streak snapped in Montreal over the weekend. Philadephia was eliminated from playoff contention and will turn their sites to getting prepared for next season. The Flyers now sit in the fourth draft position but could fall up to eight spots depending on other games around the league. Philadelphia needs help in all areas, but until they are better defensively, it will be hard to win in the NHL consistently. The Flyers average 2.78 goals a game and allow an average of 3.42 goals a game. Philadelphia will try to snap their six-game road losing streak tonight at MSG.
New York Rangers News & Notes:
The Rangers are clinging to their playoff hopes, but things look bleak – Montreal needs three points in their last four games to clinch a playoff spot. New York needs to win out and get some help. Needless to say, every game is a must-win for the Rangers. New York has lost their last two games 4-0, and 5-1 to playoff teams. The Rangers are averaging 2.97 goals and are giving up 3.05 a game. This is the final meeting this season between these two clubs, with the series tied 1-1. New York won the most recent game 6-1 on January 23.
