The Penguins have lost two straight games since the Malkin milestone win against Buffalo 6-5 in overtime. Evgeni Malkin is the 48th player in NHL history to score 500 career goals. Malkin joins Alex Ovechkin as the only Russian-born player to achieve that feat. The Penguins are bringing all three goalies on their 4-game road trip.

Players To Watch:

Pittsburgh Penguins – Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin may see more time together at 5v5. Coach Mike Sullivan said, “We might throw that pair together and see if we can get a spark.” The Penguins are 2nd in the NHL in goals scored with 24 but LAST in the league in goals allowed with 31.

Calgary Flames – The Flames have been a surprise to many to start the 2024-25 season, and Jonathan Huberdeau has been a player that has surprised many with 6 points (3g, 3a) in 5 games. Huberdeau is on pace to have his best season in Calgary since he was acquired with MacKenzie Weegar in the blockbuster trade that sent Matthew Tkachuk to Florida.
