The Blues have been a much better team since Jim Montgomery took over on November 25 going 10-6-3 in 19 games. St. Louis been better away from home this season with an 11-9-3 mark as they try to get the win tonight in Minnesota. The Blues currently sit three points out of the second wild-card spot.

The Wild have won three straight games including two in a row against a couple of the East’s best in Carolina and Washington. With the victories against the Hurricanes and Capitals Minnesota continues to add to its resume as the best road team in the NHL with a sparkling 15-3-3 record. The Wild have been mediocre at home with a 10-8-1 record at the Xcel Energy Center. The Wild have won the first two meetings between these clubs but both meetings were in St. Louis, as the series switches to Minnesota it’s time for the Wild to start protecting their home ice.

Dylan Holloway had points in five of his last six games with four multipoint games including a hat trick over that span. The 23-year-old winger is having a breakout season in St. Louis after coming over from the Oilers. Holloway has already eclipsed his career high of nine points with 29 points(14g, 15a) and is on a 58-point pace.
Minnesota Wild
Marco Rossi is the NHL’s first star of the week with three goals and five assists for eight points in three games this week. The 23-year-old Austrian has picked up the slack since Karil Kaprizov went down with an injury, the diminutive pivot has nine points in the five games without Kaprizov. Rossi has moved up to second on the Wild in scoring with 37 points (15g, 22a) in 40 games played.
