The Blue Jackets expect to take the ice this evening in front of 90,000-plus fans in the iconic home of the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Blue Jackets will wear jerseys with a nod to the Buckeyes. The game itself is a huge contest as the Blue Jackets and Red Wings occupy the Wild Card spots in the Eastern Conference, the winner of this game will get a leg up and move into the first Wild Card spot. Alex DeBrincat has points in eight straight games for the Red Wings and will try to extend his streak to nine games tonight. The 5-foot-8 winger had 12 points in eight February games with three multi-point games over that span. DeBrincat is on pace for 38 goals which would be his best season since he scored 41 goals in his last season in Chicago in 2021-2022. In two games against the Blue Jackets this season, DeBrincat has two goals and two assists.
