The Lightning travel to New Jersey looking to break a three-game road losing streak. Tampa is 9-9-1 on the road this season and has won both matchups with the Devils this season, including an 8-5 victory in New Jersey on October 22. The Lightning will try to sweep the season series between these two clubs in the final meeting tonight.

New Jersey Devils News & Notes:

The Devils have hit a rough patch lately, with losses in five of their last six games, including a 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers in New York on Thursday night. The Devils have a 12-6-3 record at home this season and they’ll be looking forward to getting back to Prudential Center after a six-game road trip.

Tampa Bay Lightning

Brayden Point has goals in back-to-back games (both Tampa wins) to help end the Lightning’s losing streak. Point has been an impact player for Tampa since he first arrived in the 2016-17 season, with no fewer than 18 goals a year and at least 23 goals in eight straight seasons. Point has one goal in one game played against New Jersey this season.

New Jersey Devils

Jack Hughes has points in three straight games and four points in four games in January. The 23-year-old pivot has 50 points (16g, 34a) in 44 games to lead the Devils in scoring. Hughes has 37 points in Devils’ wins and only 13 points in 19 games when they lose. In two games versus the Lightning this season, Hughes has a goal and two assists to pace the Devils attack.
