Toronto, ON – The Toronto Maple Leafs are facing off against the Boston Bruins tonight as the Leafs have been catching up to the Bruins in the standings. Tonight is a big game, because whichever team wins not only will gain two points, but will also deny points from the team they are battling for playoff positioning against.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
Last Meeting:
The Leafs and Bruins last faced off December 2nd, 2023 with the Bruins coming out on top in a 4-3 overtime win. Things have changed since, as the Bruins led the Atlantic in December and now are second in the Atlantic with the Leafs right on their tails.
LEAFS QUICK LOOK (35-17-8)
3rd in the Atlantic, 8th in the NHL
Leafs to Keep an Eye on:
- Ilya Lyubushkin made it through less than two periods with the leafs before a big hit from Rempe took him out of the game. Lyubushkin didn’t pass the concussion protocol tests, but has since passed them yesterday and today. Lyubushkin is poised to start tonight‘s game alongside his partner Rielly.
- John Tavares has been a step behind this year, compared to what many expected of him. He found himself demoted to the third line and has since been playing quite well in that role. The Leafs will look to control possession in his minutes with this new reworked third line.
- Matthew Knies is in his first full year in the NHL and is showing signs of adapting to an 82 game schedule. Knies has been an exciting prospect and has at times had slumps in his first season, as expected, but seems to always find a way through those slumps. Knies looks like the type of player that you would want on a contending team and will look to show it tonight against a contending team.
