HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Leafs and Hurricanes last faced off December 30th, with the Hurricanes ultimately coming out on top with a 3-2 win over the Leafs. The Hurricanes are trending upwards as of late so the Leafs will need to be on their game tonight.

LEAFS QUICK LOOK (38-19-8)

3rd in the Atlantic, 9th in the NHL

Leafs to Keep an Eye on:

  • Nick Robertson is playing tonight after being sent to the minors shortly before the trade deadline. With Järnkrok injured now is the best chance for Robertson to show what he can do. Look for Robertson to be noticeable both on and off of the puck tonight.
  • Noah Gregor is also poised to be in the Leafs lineup tonight. Gregor has deceptive speed, but hasn’t been noticeable as the season progressed. Gregor will need to push for a lineup spot with a solid game tonight.
  • Morgan Rielly has been solid for the Leafs this season and seems to be gaining some momentum with Ilya Lyubushkin back as his defense partner. Look for Rielly to have more opportunities to use his offensive skill as Lyubushkin holds things down defensively.
