HEAD-TO-HEAD

LEAFS QUICK LOOK (29-16-8)

3rd in the Atlantic, 10th in the NHL

Leafs to Keep an Eye on:

  • Auston Matthews has 48 goals in 52 games this season and has two back-to-back hat-tricks. Matthews is on pace for 75 goals this season and will look to be a difference maker once again today.
  • Bobby McMann has also been playing quite well lately. He scored a hat-trick against the Blues last week after starting the day as one of the healthy scratches. McMann has 5 goals in his last 3 games and is looking to add to that total as he looks to prove himself as an important part of this roster.
  • Marshall Rifai got called up to the Leafs with many of the team’s defensive core banged up. Rifai has been solid with the Marlies and plays a physical and defensive game. Keep an eye on Rifai, should he draw into the lineup today.

Mikko Rantanen #96 skating for the Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina Hurricanes Making Bold Additions

After weeks of speculation, the Carolina Hurricanes have completed one of the NHL’s biggest trades of recent. Trade rumors have surrounded the Hurricanes for quite some time, particularly on whether or not the organization would trade for Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller. Instead, the organization stunned in a three-team trade with the Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks — gaining a top goal-scorer in the process.

Edmonton Oilers Pregame Thoughts

Skinner x2, that’s pretty cool.  Playing on the 4th line again, the home team gives up a go-ahead goal late in the first period, and Jeff responds with a tying goal under 20 seconds later. I’m super positive he’ll be rewarded for that really important shift against his former team with another night up in the […]
