LEAFS QUICK LOOK (33-16-8)

Leafs to Keep an Eye on:
- Mark Giordano joins the Leafs for tonight’s game after being away from the Leafs due to the passing of his father. Giordano hasn’t played in a game with the Leafs since February 15th and will look to get up to speed quickly. Giordano is projected to be on the third pairing with William Lagesson and will look to be a shot blocker and defensively positive impact player for the Leafs tonight.
- Simon Benoit will get a look on the top pairing with Morgan Rielly tonight with Liljegren out of the lineup. TJ Brodie hasn’t looked nearly as good on the right side as he has on the left side, so the Rielly and Brodie pairing hasn’t worked this season. With Benoit playing a relatively solid game, he will have an increased opportunity tonight to show his skill. Keep an eye on Benoit as he looks to keep things simple and “hit the bodies” as he says.
- John Tavares has looked solid and composed after being demoted to the second powerplay unit and the third line. With his footspeed seemingly down, Tavares wasn’t as effective in his usage. Tavares has elevated his linemates in McMann and Robertson and helped create some secondary scoring for this Leafs team throughout their winning streak and he will look to do more of the same tonight.
