Utah Hockey Club:

Utah’s Dylan Guenther was named the NHL’s first star of the week for the week ending October 13 after leading the NHL in goals with 5. Utah lost defenseman Sean Durzi for the foreseeable future in the team’s first loss of the season to the New Jersey Devils. Durzi was seen in a sling after the game and will need to be reevaluated by team doctors.

Anaheim Ducks Notes:

In their last game on Sunday night, Anaheim lost 3-1 to Vegas on the second night of a back-to-back. Troy Terry had the lone goal for the Ducks. The Ducks didn’t perform well at home last season with a 12-26-3 record at the Honda Center, Anaheim will be looking to reverse that trend in the 2024-25 season as they open their home slate against a Utah team that has been strong early in the season.

Players To Watch:

Utah – Barrett Hayton is among a large group of Utah forwards that have had a hot start to the season. Hayden has 5 points in 4 games, centering the top line with Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz. Hayton has struggled with consistency and injuries in the past but seems to have found his groove early in the season.

Anaheim – Young center Leo Carlsson was brought along slowly by the Ducks last season as Anaheim eased him into the NHL. With a year under his belt, the Ducks would like to see Carlsson become a consistent threat offensively and blossom into a top-line pivot for many years to come.

C Nick Bjugstad – IR – Est. return November 2
D John Marino – IR – Est. return October 19
