Washington Capitals News & Notes: 

Washington was able to lock up defenseman Jakob Chychrun to an 8-year / $72 million contract to keep him in D.C. for a long time. The Capitals travel to Saint Paul tonight to face the Wild on the heels of a 3-2 overtime loss to Winnipeg on Tuesday night. Washington is 23-8-3 on the road this season. The Capitals have a + 75 goal differential and are 44-1-6 when they score three or more goals in a game. 

Minnesota Wild News & Notes:

Minnesota has lost two straight games as they welcome the Presidents Trophy leading Washington Capitals to the Xcel Energy Center. The Wild is 4-5-1 in their last ten games and has a -8 goal differential. On a positive note, Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek skated together this morning. This is the second and final meeting between these two clubs this season, with the Wild winning the first matchup 4-3 in a shootout.
