Los Angeles Kings News & Notes:

Los Angeles hosts Winnipeg after they thumped San Jose for a season-high eight goals in an 8-1 beating of the Sharks. Los Angeles aims for the season sweep with a win over Winnipeg, which would be LA’s third should they take this game.

Former Jets forward Jeff Malott is projected to make an NHL appearance against his old team. Malott spent four seasons in the AHL for the Manitoba Moose while he played one game in a Winnipeg Jets uniform during the regular season.

Winnipeg Jets News & Notes:

The Winnipeg Jets are coming off a successful homestand of five straight sellouts at home. The Jets also have won their past three games heading into their three-game road trip starting in LA. The Jets continue to fight through their injury struggles, but they’ve added some insurance to the roster ahead of the road trip.

Chris Driedger will back up Connor Hellebuyck as Eric Comrie is on baby watch, while Jaret Anderson-Dolan was called up as an extra forward to have on hand for Winnipeg.

Players To Watch:

Los Angeles Kings

Adrian Kempe has led the Kings in goals throughout the season, as a key player for scoring, the Jets will be looking to shut Kempe down. If Kempe’s scoring ways find light tonight, that could put the Jets in a tough position in the Central.

Winnipeg Jets

Nikolaj Ehlers enters this game on a six-game point streak. The Jets will look to the Danish forward to continue his current run of points if they want to take a game in the season series against Los Angeles.

Connor Hellebuyck looks to add to his win totals tonight against Los Angeles as he continues to make a strong case for the Vezina and Hart Trophies.

Dylan Samberg has had a quiet yet dominant season on the blueline for Winnipeg. With a big game at stake for the Jets, Samberg will be a player to watch if he elevates his game to what he is known to play to.
