Adam Lowry opened the scoring early into the first period to give Winnipeg the 1-0 lead at 16:44 with his sixth goal of the season. The Jets fired the puck down the ice, getting it out of their zone, and Nino Niederreiter took the puck, passing it down along the right wall to Neal Pionk, who shot from the point, and Lowry deflected it in past Jake Oettinger for the early lead. Later into the frame with 2:54 remaining in the first, Wyatt Johnston scored the first Dallas goal to tie it to 1-1 when the Stars fought for the puck to get it out of their zone, driving up the ice and carrying the puck into Winnipeg’s zone where Thomas Harley received the puck from Jason Robertson, and Harley carried it up as Johnston skated up on the right side… Harley sent the puck to Johnston, who buried the cross-ice feed on the 2-on-1 rush.

After a scoreless second, Mason Marchment broke the tie at 7:37 of the third frame to give the Stars their first lead of the night with a backhand from the slot. He had been spotted behind the Jets’ defense by Thomas Harley, sprung for the breakaway, and he spun away from a backcheck by Josh Morrissey to get the shot off. Roope Hintz struck the empty Winnipeg net with only eight seconds remaining in regulation for the 3-1 final.

Mason Marchment on his goal in the third period, how big it is getting the win against Colorado and this one, and moving on to the next one: “He just kind of caught up to me there at the end, and I just tried to protect it as long as I could and get a good shot off. Luckily, it went in,” – “These are two really, really good teams – teams that have won a lot of games and proven themselves. So, for us to go back-to-back against these two teams, and come up with a pretty compelling win, it’s really good on us, but it’s just one step in the right direction. I think we can get a lot better… We just forget about this one and move on, but, you know, that’s definitely a huge win.”

Adam Lowry on the loss and positives to take out of it: “I think the battle level, the effort level, was there. For the most part, our structure was pretty good. I think both teams played a pretty sound defensive game… I really liked the kill tonight. It’s just a couple of mistakes here and there, and them capitalizing on a couple of chances – Disappointed with the results, but I think when you look at the game as a whole, there are some positives we can take out of it, and, you know, another quick turnaround. So, just try to get as much rest as we can heading back to Winnipeg… It would be nice to play in front of the home fans.”
