Dallas Stars News & Notes:

The Dallas Stars advance after a gruelling seven-game series against the Colorado Avalanche. Heading into their clash against the Winnipeg Jets for the next four at minimum, they will likely receive a helping hand from Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen sometime in the series.

Winnipeg Jets News & Notes:

The Winnipeg Jets are in a similar position to Dallas after advancing after a gruelling and arguably chaotic series against the St. Louis Blues. The Jets received Gabriel Vilardi and Nikolaj Ehlers back into their lineup, but it was the injuries to Mark Scheifele, Josh Morrissey and Logan Stanley that are keeping their status uncertain as the Jets look to make a longer run this post-season.

Dallas Stars Projected Lines

Jamie Benn – Matt Duchene – Tyler Seguin

Thomas Harley – Ilya Lyubushkin
Esa Lindell – Cody Ceci
Lian Bischel – Alex Petrovic

Jake Oettinger

Winnipeg Jets Projected Lines

Players To Watch:

Dallas Stars

Jake Oettinger ranks at the top for me when it comes to Dallas Stars players to watch. He’s got the skills under his belt to steal a game, and as mentioned in my series preview, he could just be looking to prove doubters wrong about the Hellebuyck vs Oettinger dynamic.

Mikko Rantanen feels like the obvious pick, but he’s a strong candidate to do some damage, especially early in the series. The Stars’ 2025 Trade Deadline acquisition is looking more like a steal if anything, and if his playoff contributions have anything to show for it, Rantanen could be the real deal in one more solid game.

Winnipeg Jets

Connor Hellebuyck has looked incredibly dialled in, and for a good reason. After single-handedly carrying the third period and the following two overtime periods of game seven against the St. Louis Blues, you have to imagine Hellebuyck is looking for his biggest playoff moment to date.

Gabriel Vilardi will be looking to make a massive impact on the series and the Jets’ playoff run. Without Vilardi showing in this game or any for that matter, it could be a massive blow to the team and to the young forwards confidence long-term.

Injury Report:

Dallas Stars

LW Jason Robertson, Day-to-Day
D Miro Heiskanen – IR, Knee
D Nils Lundkvist – IR, Shoulder

Winnipeg Jets

C Mark Scheifele – Day-to-Day, Undisclosed
D Logan Stanley – Day-to-Day, Undisclosed
D Josh Morrissey Day-to-Day, Undisclosed
