St. Louis Blues News & Notes:

The St. Louis Blues come rolling into Winnipeg with all the momentum in their favour after four goals in 5:23 were enough of a lashing in game six. The Blues’ 5-2 win in game six forced game seven back in Manitoba, and it was all the debate among analysts as the Blues successfully chased Connor Hellebuyck out of the net yet again.

The Blues will be looking to rely on their top scorers to upset the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets in their quest to repeat their 2019 Cinderella run.

Winnipeg Jets News & Notes:

After Mark Scheifele was knocked out of game five with a massive hit from Brayden Schenn, the Jets’ franchise center missed game six and is deemed a game-time decision for game seven. It marks a massive step in a crucial game that the Jets have to win if they want to keep their season alive.

Connor Hellebuyck will be looking to bounce back after being pulled for the third straight road game in this series and the fourth playoff road game dating back to game four of the Colorado series. Scott Arniel instilled faith in his netminder to do what he does best and what got him nominated for the Vezina and Hart trophies.

Players To Watch:

St. Louis Blues

Brayden Schenn is going to look to be a massive factor in upsetting the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets. The Blues will look to him for guidance from play to play if they want to get in the game and compete with the Winnipeg Jets.

Jordan Kyrou has been quiet since Logan Stanley laid a big hit on him early in the series, and that’s not a good thing for either team. He could explode or remain quiet, and that’s the frightening thing. Kyrou’s compete level will demand more out of him long-term, but in a do-or-die game seven, having just two goals as your only points is less than ideal.

Cam Fowler has been an absolute machine for the St. Louis Blues by quarterbacking massive plays that lead to goals. His team leading 10 points (2G, 8A) could be what keeps the Blues in the playoffs as he’s been a part of most, if not all, of the Blues’ big plays.

Winnipeg Jets

Mark Scheifele is likely returning to the Winnipeg Jets lineup after missing game six with an undisclosed injury. His potential return marks a completely healthy Winnipeg Jets lineup in the playoffs and is a massive factor in their willingness to come together as a team and play for each other.

Adam Lowry has a big game as a captain to lead, and he’s certainly up to the challenge. Game seven on home ice is certainly no small feat, but the Jets’ captain will be looking to take command physically and on the scoreboard over the Blues if he wants to give his team a chance to close out a long series.

Cole Perfetti finally broke through in game six, and game seven could be his game. He scored his first career playoff goal and constantly showed his value long-term to the Winnipeg Jets organization in game six with his grit and determination not to give up.

Connor Hellebuyck is in a must-win situation yet again, and he could feed off the home crowd in a big game where it’s winner-takes-all. If Hellebuyck can silence critics tonight, the Jets are in a far better position, confidence-wise, regarding their Vezina and Hart finalist goaltender.
