Oliver Ekman-Larsson Signs With the Florida Panthers

After being bought out by the Vancouver Canucks, Oliver Ekman-Larsson has signed with the Florida Panthers for one year, $2.25 million per season.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson Stats

Ekman-Larsson joins the Stanley Cup runner-ups as they seek to get over that hill this season. This should be a good situation for both team and player, as Florida needed more defensemen. Aaron Ekblad is expected to miss time at the start of the season, and Brandon Montour has a current return time of late September from offseason surgery. OEL will hope to regain some form on a one-year deal, and the team will have someone to play in their bottom six with the potential for a better role.

This signing leaves the Florida Panthers with just over $6.5 million in cap space for more additions (10 million if they use LTIR to start the season).
