Opinion: Murphy and McGuire Pass “The Eye Test” With Great Hockey Podcast

There are a lot of great hockey podcasts out there.

There are team-specific hockey podcasts, league-specific hockey podcasts, team-hosted podcasts, and so on. Our outlet also has several terrific podcasts.

With that said, there is one hockey podcast out there that deserves our attention. The name of the podcast is “The Eye Test with Pierre McGuire and Jimmy Murphy”, which is done through Sick Media and hosted by outstanding hockey reporter Jimmy Murphy and longtime hockey coach, scout, analyst, and executive Pierre McGuire.

The two hosts bring a wealth of hockey knowledge and passion to the table, along with an unbelievable Rolodex of contacts in the industry. They also bring insider knowledge that helps to facilitate terrific conversations about the game.

There are many reasons why this podcast is one of the best hockey podcasts out there. For starters, their hosts are terrific in every sense regarding hockey.

Murphy has been covering the Boston Bruins and the NHL at large for a long time and has always done so at the highest level. He is a great writer who knows the game inside and out, he has reliable sources in the game, and he knows how to lead a hockey-related show as he done many of them over the last two decades.

McGuire is an absolute hockey encyclopedia. He has worked in and knows every level of the game, is well-known in hockey circles, is unbelievably passionate about the sport, and is someone who knows all the major players in the hockey industry.

Secondly, the show gets great guests. They get players, coaches, scouts, legends, and more.

Lastly, it is just a great show in general. Jimmy and Pierre work hard every show to make it the best they can, and they succeed in every single way.
