Ottawa Senators Recall Defenseman From Belleville

The Ottawa Senators will face the Washington Capitals tonight as they are currently on a three-game winning streak. The win streak comes following a four-game skid for the Senators. Ottawa is currently one point out of the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference and are only two points out of third place in the Atlantic Division. Ahead of tonight’s game, they have recalled defenseman Donovan Sebrango from the Belleville Senators of the AHL. Sebrango will be on the second defensive pairing with Nick Jensen. The Senators will be without Travis Hamonic, Jacob Bernard-Docker, and Thomas Chabot on defense tonight.

Donovan Sebrango

The Detroit Red Wings drafted Sebrango with the 63rd overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He spent three seasons with the Red Wings AHL affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins. He played in 135 games recording 18 points on five goals and 13 assists; he was a -17. The Senators acquired him in the trade that sent Alex DeBrincat to the Red Wings. Sebrango, last season spent time between the Allen Americans of the ECHL and Belleville.

Ottawa Hockey – Inside The Rink

Sebrango in the ECHL had two points in four games on a goal and an assist and was a minus one. In the AHL in 35 games he had seven points all on assists was a plus-three and had 65 penalty minutes. In the playoffs in seven games, he had three points on two goals, an assist, and 12 penalty minutes. This season with Belleville in 28 games he has 13 points on three goals and ten assists, he is a plus-three and has 42 penalty minutes.
