David Pastrnak is one of the best offensive players in Hockey, and this season he seems better than ever. In a contract year, he appears to be on a mission to win the Hart Trophy this season.
Last Saturday against the Blue Jackets, Pastrnak potted his 20th goal of the season, marking his sixth goal over his previous eight games. He wasn’t done there as he tallied his 21st goal against the Florida Panthers two days later during the Bruins’ 7-3 win. This pushed his streak to nine consecutive games recording a point, which has been a quiet but dominant stretch for the forward.
As per NHL Public Relations:
David Pastrnak (7-4—11 in 9 GP), who extended his point streak to nine games and moved within one of his sixth double-digit run in the NHL.
Through 31 games this season, Pasta now owns totals of 21 goals and 22 assists for 43 points. He currently ranks sixth in both goals and points across the NHL and can close those gaps with a solid second half of the season. Pastrnak also sits only two back of Peter McNab for 11th and three back of Bobby Orr for 10th on the franchise’s all-time goals leaderboard.
In his career, Pastrnak’s longest point streak was 13 games during the 2019-20 season, and he also has streaks of 12(x2), 11, and 10 games.
He will have the opportunity to reach the double-digit mark when the Bruins take on the Winnipeg Jets at home tonight at 7 PM EST.
Will Pastrnak break his personal best and rival the streak of 23 games that Mitch Marner had earlier this season?
