The Pittsburgh Penguins announced today that they acquired forward Bennett MacArthur from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for forward Lukas Svejkovsky.

MacArthur, 23, was signed by the Lightning in 2022 after going undrafted. He spent the last two seasons in the ECHL with the Orlando Solar Bears and the Allen Americans, along with six games in the AHL with Syracuse. In 108 ECHL games, MacArthur has 21 goals and 60 points, including a career-best 11 goals and 29 points in 55 games last season. He is signed throughout the 2024-25 season and carries an average-annual salary of $925K.

Svejkovsky, 22, is heading to his hometown team after being drafted by the Penguins 108th overall in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He spent the last two seasons in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barrie/Scranton Penguins, putting up five goals and 19 points in 66 games. He also suited up in 30 games this past season with the Wheeling Nailers, putting up an impressive 16 goals and 37 points.
