Petr Mrazek Leaves Game Against Utah

The Detroit Red Wings are facing the Utah Hockey Club for the final time this season. The Red Wings are 2-8-0 in their last ten. Petr Mrazek got the start in net for Detroit making his fifth start since being acquired by the Red Wings in a trade that sent Joe Veleno to Chicago. He is 2-2-0 since being acquired with a 2.51 goals-against average, a .901 save percentage and a shutout. Just 1.5 minutes into the first period Mrazek suffered an injury Dylan Guenther of Utah made contact with his knee while Barrett Hayton made contact with his head. Mrazek went down the tunnel and Alex Lyon took over in the net. Mrazek stopped the lone shot he faced. Mrazek has been confirmed he will not return.

Mrazek is in his 13th career season back with Detroit. He played his first six seasons with Detroit. Mrazek went 72-58-20 with a 2.49 goals-against average, a .913 save percentage, and 14 shutouts. He’s spent time with Chicago, Carolina, Toronto, and Philadelphia. In 427 games he is 180-176-40 with a 2.85 goals-against average, a .906 save percentage, and 26 shutouts. He was moved on to Philadelphia. He went 6-6-3 with a 3.22 goals-against average, a .891 save percentage, and a shutout. Mrazek then joined Carolina where he spent three seasons. He went 50-32-8 with a .911 save percentage a 2.48 goals-against average, and ten shutouts.

Mrazek then joined Toronto where in one season he made 20 appearances. He went 12-6-0 with a 3.34 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage. In three seasons with Chicago, he went 38-72-9 with a .899 save percentage, a 3.34 goals-against average, and one shutout. This season before the trade in Chicago he made 33 starts going 10-19-2 with a 3.46 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage.
