The 29-year-old goaltender has had a rough season with the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, posting a 5-8-2 record with a 3.26 GAA and .890SV% in 15 games with the Phantoms, and in just five games with the Flyers, he’s gone 2-2 with a 3.90 GAA and .864SV%. He is in the second year of a three-year deal worth $15 million and has a 10-team no-trade list. With his contract, it will be hard for a team to claim him off waivers.
Moving forward, the Flyers will likely call up Felix Sandstrom from the Phantoms. Sandstrom has played in 20 games this year with the Phantoms and has gone 11-6-2 with a 3.23 GAA and .882SV%. The Swedish goaltender has not seen any NHL time this year but has a career 3-16-4 record with a 3.62 GAA and .887SV% in 25 games. Expect Samuel Ersson to carry the load for the Flyers moving forward, Ersson is 17-11-4 with a 2.55 GAA, .901SV%, and three shutouts in 33 games this season
