CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Wranglers returned to the Saddledome Thusday night after the Christmas break, to take on the Abbotsford Canucks, for the first of a two-game series.

The two teams were separated by four points for the Division lead headed into this game. Ben Jones hit the back of the net to start the scoring for the Wranglers at 7:09 of the first period. The lead changed hands four times before the end of the third period, and a 3-3 tie going into overtime. Abbotsford’s Matt Irvin scored at 1:58 of OT for the 4-3 victory.
