ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades hosted the Atlanta Gladiators Wednesday night at Hertz Arena. The Gladiators were making a one-game stop in Estero after playing the night before in Orlando against the Solar Bears, which the Gladiators won 7-6 in a shootout.
The Everblades were looking to extend their four-game winning streak and maintain pressure on the teams ahead of them in the South Division for the final playoff spot. The Everblades jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first period and coasted to a 4-1 victory. Forward Cam Morrison received the night’s first star with two goals and one assist. He spent all but five games of the season with the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL before moving down to help the Everblades out.
The Everblades host the division-leading Greenville Swamp Rabbits in a two-game series this weekend. Game one is on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Hertz Arena.
