NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays rounded out a three-game weekend with an 2-1 overtime win over the Atlanta Gladiators on Sunday at the North Charleston Coliseum. Garin Bjorklund was in the net for the Rays, securing the first win this season for him in the crease, with 23 saves.

Connor Moore put the Stingrays up on the board at 15:40 in the first period, with assists going to Ryan Leibold and Jamie Englebert. The game stayed at 1-0 until the final 54 seconds of regulation, when a shot from Atlanta’s Cody Sylvester got past Bjorkland, tying the game. For the second time in as many night, the Stingrays went into overtime.

With Moore and Charlie Combs to assist, Tyler Weiss sealed the deal for the Rays with a backhand goal at 6:07 in the overtime period, against Atlanta’s goaltender Drew Deridder. The win put the Stingrays at 4-1-1-0 thus far for the season. You can see the Rays this Friday. Nov 8, take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at the North Charleston Coliseum.
