FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville Marksmen and the Birmingham Bulls faced off Friday night at the Crown Complex. The Marksmen scored first, capitalizing on a power play in the opening period to take an early lead. The second period saw both teams ramp up their intensity on both ends of the ice, battling for control. Late into the second period, the Bulls found the back of the net, evening the score at 1-1 heading into the third period.

Early in the third, Birmingham broke through the Marksmen’s defense, netting two quick goals to take the lead. The Fayetteville Marksmen pulled their goalie in the final two minutes of the period, but ultimately the Birmingham Bulls pulled ahead, scoring twice on the empty net to seal a 5-2 victory.
