ROANOKE, Va – It was the first home game of the new year for the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, and the first place Birmingham Bulls made their presence known.
The first period ended tied at 1-1. At the end of the second period, the Bulls enjoyed a three goal lead, up 4-1. The Dawgs had a fantastic comeback in the third period, with Nick Ford making a shot from the left wing circle, tying the game with 20.1 seconds left in the game to force overtime. In OT, Dominiks Marcinkevics made his second consecutive game winning OT goal for Roanoke, to give them a 5-4 win.
