TAMPA, Fla – The Boston Bruins came to town for a mid-week matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night, with the Lightning taking a 3-1 victory. This extends their point streak to eight games.

Tampa’s Mitchell Chaffee scored the game’s first goal on a backhand feed from Nick Paul, chipping the puck past Linus Ullmark. Boston’s Danton Heinen even things up with a wrister from the right circle to make it a 1-1 game headed into the second. Brayden Point gave Tampa a 2-1 lead on a wrap-around on the near post in the second period. A third period goal by Steven Stamkos was ruled to be off side, keeping it a one goal game. Nikita Kucherov would score the empty netter on a wrap around goal, with 25 seconds left in the game, to seal the victory for the Lightning.
