BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Boston Fleet faced off against the New York Sirens on Sunday afternoon in the PWHL Takeover Tour at KeyBank Center. The Fleet extended their winning streak to four games, while New York continued their current streak of seven losses.

In the first period, New York took the lead as Sarah Fillier scored the game’s first goal. However, Boston quickly responded with a goal from Loren Gabel to tie the game at 1-1. As the first period wound down, New York regained the lead thanks to Jessie Eldridge’s goal, making it 2-1 heading into the second.

The second period saw Amanda Pelkey tie the game for Boston with her first goal of the season, sending the game into the third period at 2-2. After a scoreless third period and overtime, the game went to a shootout. Susanna Tapani scored the only goal of the shootout, sealing the win for Boston. Goaltender Aerin Frankel made 37 saves on 39 shots, earning her tenth win of the season. New York’s Kayle Osborne made 30 saves on 32 shots in the loss. The Stars of the Game were recognized following the game with Boston recognizing Aerin Frankel and Susanna Tapani, while New York recognized Jessie Eldridge.

Sunday marked New York’s first appearance in a Takeover game, while Boston secured their second Takeover Tour victory this season, both of which came in shootouts.
