
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence Bruins fell 3-2 in overtime to the Charlotte Checkers on Sunday evening at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. Forwards Riley Tufte and Brett Harrison led the charge both scoring goals during the second and third periods, respectively. The Checkers stepped it up halfway through the third period to net their first goal of the afternoon off the stick of John Leonard. Michael Benning tied the game up with 7:10 left in the third, and Brett Chorske scored with just over two minutes left in overtime to seal the victory for Charlotte. Goaltender Brandon Bussi stopped 28 of 31 shots faced.
