ROSEMONT, Ill. – Saturday night at the Allstate Arena, the Chicago Wolves faced off against the Coachella Valley Firebirds for the first game of a weekend series. The Wolves would fall to the Firebirds 3-2 in overtime.

Justin Robidas would open the scoring to give the Woles a 1-0 lead early in the first period, but the Firebirds would answer back late in the period with a goal from Ryan Winterton to tie the game at 1-1. Skyler Brind’Amour scored a power play goal early in the second period, to give the Wolves a 2-1 lead, but Ryan Winterton scored his second goal of the game to tie the score at 2-2.

After a scoreless third period, the game went to overtime. Jagger Firkus scored the game-winning goal in OT to give the Firebirds a 3-2 victory.
